The morning of your wedding day goes by so fast. It's important to have a few plans and preparations in place leading up to that day. This blog provides helpful information and reminders to consider the day of your wedding, especially before the ceremony begins. Having a timeline in place and making sure these details are addressed, helps your special day run smoothly and stay on track.
1. Venue and Timeline
Sitting down with your fiancé and planning out a timeline of events for your wedding day is crucial for how the flow of the day will go. Once you have a general timeline in place, its important to share it with your groomsmen so that they are aware of when and where everything will take place. Make sure that everyone knows when to arrive, when and where to get ready, and if pictures will take place prior to the ceremony or directly after.
2. Things to Bring with You
These are a few items to pack and bring with you the morning of your big day. Getting these things together the day before your wedding helps you stay on track and not run into any last minute speed bumps.
- suit/tux
- tie/bowtie
- socks and shoes
- toiletry bag
- vows
- rings
- cufflinks
- gifts for the bride/groomsmen
3. Wedding Day Gifts
Whether it's something special for your future bride, your groomsmen, or even your parents - gathering these things the week before your wedding is always a great idea. It's important that you take the time to wrap them and add any personal notes before the actual morning of your wedding. This way nothing gets forgotten at home or you spend half your morning scrambling around for last minute tissue paper or something to scribble a note on.
4. Groomsmen Fun
Providing snacks, fun drinks, or even games while you and your groomsmen get ready and celebrate is always a great idea. This allows time for you all to hang out, relax, and enjoy some time together before suiting up and taking on the festivities of the big day!
5. First Look with your Bride
If you and your fiancé decide to have a first look, there are a few things to think about leading up to that moment. Make sure that your timeline for the day allows for the two of you to not only have the first look, but also a moment to chat and share gifts or heartfelt words with one another. This is a great time to share gifts and take photos. Also, if you aren't a man of many words, perhaps plan to have a hand written note to give her that lets her know exactly how you feel about her and this special day!
6. Packing and Prepping for the Honeymoon
Once the night finally comes to an end, you will not want to go home and finish packing and scrambling around to get things together for your honeymoon. That's why I suggest packing and prepping all of your honeymoon details prior to the day of your wedding. That way, the morning of your special day you can simply load up luggage and your travel details, along with you itineraries and know that it is all good to go before your big day even begins.
