Cole and Aubrey met at Tidal Wave car wash. He was working and saw her West Florence sticker and knocked on her window and asked if she went to West Florence. She gave him the obvious “yeah..?,” to which he proceeded to ask if she knew Copeland Eaddy- his sister. Aubrey rolled her window up and went on with her day. Several months later, she added him on Snapchat and he asked if she drove a white car. She said “yes” and they began chatting. He eventually asked her to go to dinner with him, in which she said yes, but then never got back to him. One of Aubrey’s friends, Avery, knew him and told her he was the sweetest guy and that she should give him a chance. He asked her again if she would go to dinner with him and so she did. They went to dinner where she hardly said a word. He swore she wanted nothing to do with him, but ever since that day, they have been glued at the hip!
Aubrey and Cole’s first date was to Redbone Alley where they were seated in front of the live band. Aubrey says she could not hear a word he said and barely talked the whole time. On the way to drop her off, she told him he was going the long way and that this way would be much quicker. He swore she wanted to get away from him and had no interest, but after that Aubrey says he could not get rid of her! They hung out at his house the next day and went out again the next morning.
When it came time for Cole to propose, he did it this past Thanksgiving and had it all planned with his family involved. Originally, Cole’s family’s Thanksgiving lunch was at the same time as Aubrey’s so she declined the invite. Miraculously, she says, they moved their dinner to after her family’s lunch. Aubrey’s sister said that Cole’s mom invited her, so she went with them. Aubrey says she did not think too much of that because she pretty much goes everywhere with them. When they got there, they had the table set up in a square shape so that everyone could see everybody. Once they sat down, they all went around to say what everyone was thankful for. The only thing she says she found weird was that Cole would be the last person and he hates being the center of attention. Everyone said their thanks and it became Aubrey’s turn. She said she figured she would use this opportunity as a *subtle* hint to Cole that it is been forever and he still has not proposed. Aubrey’s thanks were, “I am thankful to be an honorary Eaddy and hopefully soon, a real Eaddy.” Everyone looked shocked and did not say much and now she knows why. Cole’s turn comes and he starts by saying how thankful he is for his family and then says how thankful he is for her. He starts to stand up and Aubrey, confused, had no idea where he was going with the middle of his speech. He then says “I have been thankful for Aubrey for a while now, so thankful that I wanted to ask in front of my family, if you would marry me?” Stunned, she quickly said “yes”, but nobody heard her. His grandad said “this is the first time I’ve seen Aubrey speechless!” It was perfect and a huge deal for him to have asked in front of his whole family, since he hates having the attention on him, according to Aubrey.
When asked what they love about each other, Aubrey says that she loves that no matter what kind of day it has been or mood either of them are in, she always knows that Cole would do anything in the world for her. She loves how passionate he is about things he cares about. She knows he will make the best dad to their children one day, which is extremely important to her. Aubrey says that not only is she marrying this man to spend the rest of her life with, but she is picking a father for her future children. She has no doubt he will be present and the best possible dad to her children. She says Cole is not an emotional person, or someone that expresses feelings often, but through his actions, she can tell how much he truly loves her. He reminds her at times that he does not know what he would do without her and she feels the exact same way. Cole says he loves how caring Aubrey is and all the little things she does for him. He loves that she takes care of him without asking. He loves coming home at the end of the day and eating dinner and watching TV together.
Cole and Aubrey love spending all summer at the lake and on the boat especially hanging out at sand bars or riding around on the water is their favorite! They also enjoy getting together with friends and watching football, playing pool, or just hanging out. Aubrey says the two of them are very opposite. Cole could be in the woods all day, while she is at TJ Maxx for hours! For the most part, they just enjoy each other’s company while sitting on the couch and watching TV.
Cole and Aubrey, it is such a joy and honor to be a part of your special day and to capture your memories. Your MBL family congratulate you on your engagement!
