Bruce and Anna first met at Tupelo Honey Café. Bruce worked as a line cook in the kitchen, while Anna was the front-of-house manager. They both found each other attractive but never made a move. Eventually, Jake, the kitchen manager, decided to play matchmaker and arranged for them to meet up with a group of friends at King Street for some drinks. It was then that Bruce got Anna's number and they started talking after that night. Anna and Bruce's first date took place when Anna invited Bruce to walk her dog down the trail by the road near her apartment and then go to lunch. Since they both worked evenings, they thought it was a great idea. The day was very hot, so they only walked the dog for a little while before returning to the apartment. They went to lunch at McAlister’s Deli, this was during COVID, so McAlister’s was serving everything in Togo boxes, and it stressed Bruce out that their lunch came to the table in a Togo box.
Bruce proposed to Anna at a special place that was meaningful to them. They had taken one of their first pictures on the balcony of Wicked Tuna when they started dating back in 2020. In January 2023, Bruce surprised Anna by taking her to the Marshwalk one night to walk around the pier, as he said they never get a chance to do anything. Anna had no clue what Bruce had planned. When they went up to the balcony where they had taken the first picture, Anna asked Bruce if they could take another one because she did not like the first picture. Bruce then put the camera on record for a video, and Anna still thought they were taking a picture. He started talking to her, and she was still unsure if he was proposing or what was going on – she said it was all a blur! Then, he pulled out a little bag from his pocket, and inside was a ring and he proposed.
Anna and Bruce love that they have an unbreakable bond and can conquer any obstacle together. They were separated by long distances during Army training and could only communicate through letters for eight months, but their trust and loyalty never wavered. They prioritize open and honest communication and always support each other through thick and thin. Together, you can find them enjoying great food, cooking together (although Anna admits she often gets in the way), and running errands as a team. They also love to snuggle up on the couch as a family and watch TV shows or movies. In the summer, they like to visit the pool and enjoy each other's company on their days off. Anna and Bruce, I want to thank you for choosing me to capture your memories! I'm thrilled to be part of your upcoming wedding and congratulations from your MBL family!
